Days for Girls Feminine Protection Program Give a girl EVERY day of her life back. What if not having feminine supplies kept you isolated for days during menstruation? No study for days, no income for days, no going out, no access to hygiene? The truth is that this happens every day for women in third world countries. We can do something about that. And we're tackling the goal of making sure each of them can have their own washable, colorful, effective feminine solutions. We recommend 6 pads, and two "outer shields" to hold the pads in place per girl/woman. This project also serves as a trade-training industry for young women in third world countries. Days for Girls Feminine Pad Instructions pdf MS Word How you can help: * Donate money for kits, fabric, supplies and booklets (Send to: Project Thrive, 810 H Street Road, Lynden, WA 98264 Attn: Days for Girls)
* Donate fabric Polyblend
or cotton
fabric in one yard (or more) segments (this is the base for 36+
pads, cotton is added on top, see pattern). Any type is
welcome, colorful patterns is preferred to hide stains and add
cheer...and we're sure it goes without saying that whatever you
can offer is welcome, the girls wouldn't be picky... just
appreciative! * Notify us of projects that need Days For Girls Kits and we'll work together to get them some!
Current Days For Girls Heroes: 500 Kits in Three Weeks? No way. Yes! The Swan Foundation, Women of Faith of the Lynden Baptist Church (thank you Betty and Super Friends!), and the LDS Relief Society all sewed until they had blisters. Many people donated funding and voila' 500 kits in three weeks = Hundreds of happy young women. See for yourself! THANK YOU! 1000 Kits in Just Three Months!: The Bellingham Stake Women's Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are sewing 1000 KITS for orphanages worldwide. Lynden Middle School Home Education Club Tackles Kits: These talents students and their dedicated instructor are taking on as many kits as they can by summer's end. Good luck! Jill Clay and her daughter Bryana are taking on Days For Girls Kits. They also participated in the recent 500 Kits challenge and provided fabric so that teachers at the Academy we delivered the kits to could set up a sewing trade calls, make more for incoming students, and replace worn ones. Just a few of many remarkable people making a huge difference with Days For Girls. THANK YOU!
